We’ve received several reports today of an email scam involving persons falsely posing as DLC staff and requesting volunteers “to assist with a mass escape from the Lemur Center.” This email is a hoax. Please do not respond or communicate with the sender.
Duke Lemur Center staff do a head count every day, and every lemur is safely accounted for. “We take the security and safety of our animals very seriously,” says Greg Dye, Executive Director of the DLC. “While we appreciate the calls of support that we’ve received, please know that all of the Lemur Center’s animals are exactly where they’re supposed to be.”
