All purchases “give back” to the lemurs at the DLC! Merchandise sales help fund the Education Department and pay for lemur care, housing, veterinary supplies, and conservation initiatives. –So you can feel good about the products you buy!

Scheduling your visit: In order to keep the endangered primates that call the DLC home safe and healthy, we regret that we cannot accommodate any unscheduled, walk-in visitors in any capacity—including visitors to the gift shop. All scheduled tours offer access to the gift shop. If you would like to make a reservation to shop in our gift shop separately from a scheduled tour, please email us at As noted below, gift shop merchandise is also available for curbside pick-up or online.

Paintings by lemurs

One-of-a-kind masterpieces by our finest lemur artists are now available to ship worldwide! Each work of lemur art comes with a high-quality print of the artist(s), info sheets about the species and the particular artist(s), a gallery-style ID tag, and a copy of the beautiful 2019 DLC magazine. Online sales with FREE shipping

We’ve partnered with Duke University Stores to offer some of our most popular items for sale online with FREE shipping within the continental United States (with international shipping also available)! Browse the catalog and order online via the Duke Stores secure website. We’ll be adding more items over time, so be sure to check back and follow us on social media for updates!

How does curbside pick-up work?

SHOP: First, review available merchandise options in our online catalog (links above) and decide what you’d like to purchase.

PURCHASE: Second, call us at (919) 401-7240 between 9:00 AM-5:00 PM EST to purchase your items over the phone. As we are accommodating in-person guests, we may not be able to answer right away. Please leave a message with your contact information, and we’ll be happy to call you back as soon as we can.

PICK UP: Third, swing by the DLC to pick up your item(s). We will be open for pick-up every day from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM.

To pick up your order, please drive to our visitor parking area right outside the Lemur Landing Gift Shop, then find a parking spot. Our GPS address is 3705 Erwin Road, Durham, NC. Please enter via our main entrance (off Old Erwin Road across from the Duke School) and follow the gravel road. You’ll pass the Duke Forestry buildings on your left, then drive through a tall chainlink gate before the road dead-ends into our U-shaped visitor parking area.

Please stay in your vehicle and call us at (919) 401-7240 to let us know that you’ve arrived. Lower a window to an empty seat or pop your trunk so we can place your merchandise in your vehicle without direct interaction.

Hang tight while we bring your merchandise order out to you.

While you’re onsite, please do not leave your car for any reason. We appreciate your understanding as we do our best to keep our staff and irreplaceable population of endangered primates safe.
