What is it?
An upgrade from the simpler Virtual Tour option, our Ask an Expert virtual program is our way of connecting you directly with the incredibly knowledgeable experts working here at the Duke Lemur Center! We’ll work with you to schedule a private ZOOM session on a topic of your choice, so you can take a deeper dive into the fascinating world of lemurs in a live chat. Each Ask an Expert session will be private to you, but you may choose to share it with as many friends as you’d like for a virtual group activity! You may also choose to give this package as a gift to someone else, they would then have at least one year to schedule their session.
What does it include?
Each Ask an Expert session will begin with a structured and engaging presentation* on the topic of your choice and will include ample time for Q&A as well.
The full program will last up to 60 minutes.
Be sure to watch the Virtual Tour video series, so you can prepare for your chat with your lemur expert.
This session includes complimentary participation for guests of your choice. While we can accommodate larger groups using YouTube Live, our experts may not be able to answer everyone’s questions in one hour. For the most interactive experience, we recommend limiting participation to 15 people or brainstorming questions in advance.
*Please note that all video of the lemurs will be pre-recorded, and there will not be any live sessions with the lemurs on screen. Using pre-recorded footage allows us to show you the best views and angles of the lemurs, AND it ensures that the lemurs can have fun on their timeline, so it really is the best option for all primates involved!

What is the cost?
Ask an Expert Presentation and Q&A (up to 60 minutes): $100 plus tax

How do I schedule?
To request an Ask an Expert virtual program, please fill out the request form below. Please note that you should plan to watch our Virtual Tour in advance of your Ask an Expert session, so that you can get the most value out of the experience. Once we have confirmed your scheduled session, you will be asked to pay in advance through a secure online portal. All registration fees are non-refundable, but you may reschedule to a future date with at least 48 hours’ notice.
