What you’ll receive
With a donation of $25 or more through the link on this page, you will receive:
🌹 On Valentine’s Day, you will receive a special message to share/forward to those you care about, explaining that you made a special donation to the DLC and including the link to this year’s valentine video! Read details below under “What to Expect.”
🌹 Exclusive access to the 2025 Love and Lemurs video, 60 seconds of cuteness to warm the hearts of any animal-loving human!
🌹 A few fun, shareable, and printable lemur valentine images and cards, like the sample from last year’s promotion shown at the bottom of this page.
🌹 Warm fuzzies, knowing that your tax-deductible donation supports the care of Earth’s most endangered mammals!
Delivery basics + deadline to order
Delivery of valentine’s messages + video link will begin on Feb. 14 at 9:00 a.m. EST. That morning, all individuals who donated prior to 8:30 a.m. EST will receive an email from the DLC with the link to our 2025 Love and Lemurs valentine video.
The deadline to order your valentine with a donation through the link above is Friday, Feb. 14 at 11:00 a.m. EST. Read more about “what to expect” below.
Your email message from the Duke Lemur Center, including the link and password for the 2025 Love and Lemurs valentine video to share with others, will be sent as follows:
For orders placed prior to 8:30 a.m. EST on Feb. 14, donors will receive their Valentine’s Day message from the Duke Lemur Center on Feb. 14 before 9:00 a.m. EST. The email message will provide a link and access to the Love and Lemurs Valentine Video that donors can begin sharing with their loved ones.
For orders on Valentine’s Day placed AFTER 8:30 a.m. EST and BEFORE 11:00 a.m. EST, the email with the video link will be delivered by 1:00 p.m. EST.
If you do not see the Valentine’s Day email in your inbox by 9:00 a.m. EST on Feb. 14, please first check your spam/junk/promotions folders. If it isn't there, please email mary.paisley@duke.edu.
How does it work? One gift of $25 or more through the link above buys you access to our 2025 Love and Lemurs Video Valentine. You will receive the link to that video on Valentine’s Day via an emailed message, which you can then share along with your own personal comments with all of the people you care about.
How much is it? We request a minimum donation of $25. If you plan to forward the valentine message to more than two people, please consider increasing your gift to the DLC by adding another $10 (or more!) per additional recipient. Just change the default amount from $25 to the amount you choose on the payment page. Every gift makes a huge difference to us, so THANK YOU!
Where does my donation go? Your tax-deductible donation to the DLC's Love and Lemurs fundraiser supports the care of our remarkable colony of lemurs—Earth’s most endangered mammals! Your tax receipt from Duke will note “Duke Lemur Center, Unrestricted Fund.”
Is my gift tax deductible? Yes! Donations to the Duke Lemur Center are deductible at the highest limits allowed for federal income or estate tax purposes. Your tax receipt will come from Duke University, Federal Tax ID 56-0532129. Questions about your receipt can be emailed to gifts2duke@duke.edu.
When will I receive my Valentine's Day message? On or before February 13, you will receive a preliminary message from the Duke Lemur Center with a link to our “Valentine’s Day Toolkit” outlining when your Valentine’s Day message and video link will be delivered, along with links to a few valentine “extras” including digital images and downloadable cards that you may opt to share with your loved ones in addition to the video link. The link to the video will also be added to this page on Valentine's Day.
On Valentine's Day, you (the donor/purchaser) will receive an email from the Duke Lemur Center with a special Valentine’s Day message that will include the link to access and view the Love and Lemurs valentine video on our website. You can then forward your Valentine’s Day message to your chosen recipient(s).

I didn't receive an email from the DLC by 9:00 a.m. on Valentine's Day. What should I do? If you do not see the email in your inbox, please check your spam and/or junk folders. If it isn't there, please email mary.paisley@duke.edu.Â
Can the DLC mail a valentine to a physical ('snail mail') address? Sorry, but no.  These valentines can be sent via email only. You can, however, print a notecard from the toolkit to personally hand deliver or mail to your loved ones if you order in time to snail-mail it!
How late can I submit my order? For delivery on Valentine's Day, the absolute deadline to order is 11:00 a.m. EST on Feb. 14. Orders placed between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Valentine's Day will receive their message with the video link by 1:00 p.m. EST.
Your donation is tax-deductible and once your donation is processed, a receipt will be sent to you from Duke University, federal tax ID 56-0532129.
