Thanks for your interest in camps at the Duke Lemur Center!
All camp fees fund the Education Department and help pay for lemur care, housing, veterinary supplies, and conservation initiatives. –So not only will your child enjoy learning about lemurs, you’ll be actually helping the DLC’s lemurs too!
Types of Camps

Leaping Lemurs! TRACK OUT Science Camp
The Leaping Lemurs! Track Out Science Camp is a co-ed camp designed for grades 3rd through 8th and includes a mixture of classroom learning, fun interactive activities, and of course plenty of time with the lemurs! Each camp includes age appropriate modules that guarantee an educational and fun-filled time for your child. Participants learn about all aspects of the Lemur Center, including research, conservation, and animal care! This is a perfect camp for the animal lover in your family. Leaping Lemurs! Summer Science Camp
The Duke Lemur Center offers science camps for rising 1st grade- through high school-level students. Students meet our lemurs, participate in fantastic lectures with our world renowned researchers and lemur specialists and complete exciting interactive activities. Topics include primatology, research, conservation, archaeology, and animal care! More details are available here.
Art & Writing Workshops
Afterschool Art and More! offers exciting lemur-themed illustration and writing workshops throughout the year for students of all ages. These special sessions are administered by AAM but held here at the Lemur Center. A midday break even includes a visit with real lemurs! Learn more here.
