Looking to visit the Duke Lemur Center before our tour season begins in May? While off-season options are more limited due to weather and staffing, we still have some tours available for booking:
Wild Workshops: Dive deep into fascinating topics with our experts and enjoy fun behind-the-scenes activities! We will rotate between themes depending on the time of year, but we can guarantee that every Wild Workshop will be full of interesting facts, engaging activities, and of course, lots of lemur viewing. Saturday and Sunday afternoons (1:30-3:30pm) from October-April. Age requirements vary by Workshop but most are ages 10+. $75 per person.
Behind the Scenes tours: Take a peek behind the animal care curtain of the DLC on this one-of-a-kind experience! You’ll get up close views of feedings and enrichment sessions, and your tour guide can focus on your interests the whole time. Our afternoon Behind the Scenes tour also provides a rare opportunity to see the elusive aye-aye! Year round. Ages 10+. $400 per group (private tour of 1-4 people).
We are occasionally able to add some of our weather-dependent tours during the off-season, but due to the lemurs’ cold sensitivity and constantly shifting North Carolina temperatures, we are only able to add these week-of. You can check our Tours page to see if we’ve been able to add any weather-dependent tours on a given week, including off-season General Tours and Walking with Lemurs tours.
We are not able to accept walk-ins, so make sure to schedule your tour in advance!
