sophlemursJoin the DLC Education team and former DLC volunteer, A.C. Tempel for a free book reading at the Lemur Landing visitor’s center on Saturday, February 15th at 11:00am.   Reservation required as space is limited.  Please call 919-401-7240 to ensure your spot!

A.C. Tempel first began her education about lemurs while volunteering for the Duke Primate Center in Durham, North Carolina as a docent and tour guide. Over time, her passion grew for these unique and fascinating animals and it was love! After having her son, A.C. struggled to find fun and playful ways to teach lessons and manners. Raising a well-behaved, courteous child was paramount to her and her husband. The singsong format allows the child to easily remember each lesson vignette and even “play” along as their parent reads to them. Eventually, they can practice reading themselves. The fun facts will help teach the importance of conservation, education, and the protection of this amazing species. A.C. lives in Florida with her family. This is her first book.

Books will be available for purchase ($14.00) and signing after the event.

Please note, this reading does not include a tour or any animal viewing while at the DLC.
